01 — How We Started
Founded in Bluffton, for Bluffton
Beau Ragsdale started this company in 2014 because he kept seeing the same story play out across the Lowcountry: a homeowner hires a roofing company, and the people who actually show up are strangers to everyone — including the company that sold the job.
Beau had a different idea. Build a roofing company where the estimate, the installation, and the follow-through all come from the same team. Hire roofers as employees, not day labor. Train them, equip them, and pay them well enough that they stay — so the experience on your roof compounds year after year instead of walking off after every job. Together with co-owner Lauren Ragsdale, he built exactly that, and more than a decade later the company still runs on the same principle.
Today our team brings more than 25 years of combined roofing experience to every project, from a single-shingle repair in Sun City to a full commercial tear-off in Beaufort. We’re licensed and bonded, we carry an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and we answer our own phone — including at 2 a.m. during hurricane season, when a roof problem won’t wait for business hours. This is the decision everything else grew from. Ragsdale Roofing and Innovations has never subcontracted a roof, and we never will. The estimator who walks your shingles, the crew that tears them off, and the foreman who does the final inspection all draw a paycheck from the same Bluffton company — which means accountability never has anywhere to hide.

03 — The “Innovations” Part
Why our name says more than “roofing”
People sometimes ask about the second half of our name. It isn’t decoration. A roof on the South Carolina coast faces conditions most of the country never sees — salt-heavy air, months of punishing humidity, shingle temperatures that swing a hundred degrees between an August afternoon and the thunderstorm that follows it, and a June-to-November hurricane season that stress-tests every fastener we drive.
“Innovations” is our commitment to keep pace with the materials and methods that handle those conditions best: high-wind architectural shingles, standing-seam metal systems that shrug off salt spray, synthetic underlayments, sealed roof-deck techniques, and ridge ventilation that fights the humidity working on your roof from underneath. When a better product or practice proves itself for coastal work, we learn it, train on it, and put it on Lowcountry roofs — and when something is just marketing, we say so.

Three values, kept simple
Show up. When we give you a start date, we hit it. When storm damage can’t wait, our emergency repair team answers 24/7. Being reachable and being on time are the cheapest ways to respect a customer, and the rarest.
Tell the truth. If a modest repair will buy your roof five more good years, we’ll recommend the repair — even when a replacement would pay us more. Estimates are free, itemized, and explained in plain English.
Build for the next storm. Every roof we touch is built as if a named storm is already on the forecast map, because in the Lowcountry, one eventually is. That mindset governs our fastener schedules, our flashing details, and the corners we refuse to cut.

We know which neighborhoods have architectural review boards with opinions about shingle color, which streets flood first in an afternoon downpour, and what salt air does to exposed fasteners five miles from the beach — because we’ve worked on these streets for over a decade.
